La Banque Postale’s EMI Opts for TagPay Banking Infrastructure

FACTS

  • The FinTech from Boulogne-Billancourt TagPay (famous for their banking services platform) announces a strategic partnership with eZyness: digital subsidiary of La Banque Postale.
  • Goals: Modernise the EMI’s range of banking services and better meet corporate customers’ expectations (merchants, companies, key accounts).
  • TagPay provides eZyness with:
    • A natively digital and full real-time infrastructure
    • A comprehensive catalogue of APIs for more openness and higher adaptability
    • Expertise and insight in dealing with African and South American markets
  • eZyness will be migrating their platform to TagPay’s banking infrastructure for more agility, especially in:
    • Designing API-based payment services
    • Developing payment collection services on behalf of third parties
    • Managing e-money for their customers

CHALLENGES

  • Assist banks through their digital transformation. These institutions have highly specific expectations. La Banque Postale’s subsidiary, for instance, expresses a need to feature payment collection services, including innovative payment methods, for e-commerce marketplaces.
  • TagPay would be interested in adding a dedicated team likely to help them grow stronger in France and in Europe, while also upholding their current values.
  • La Banque Postale’s EMI aims to be at the leading edge of the evolving payment market: their partnership with TagPay should help them achieve this goal.

MARKET PERSPECTIVE

  • In October 2018, TagPay announced a partnership with digital consulting firm Onepoint as they started aiming for Europe via the French market.
  • After Société Générale (for YUP) and La Banque Postale, this FinTech hopes their platform will attract other international banking players, and help them stand out from competition: long-standing core banking service providers (SOPRA, Themenos, etc.) or telco’s mobile money platforms.
  • eZyness supports La Banque Postale’s digital strategy and their intent to grasp more market shares. Likewise, this group is expected to roll out their digital bank, namely Ma French Bank, in the near future.
